Telko Ltd has obtained the ISCC Plus certification as the first distributor in Finland. ISCC certification is an example of Telko’s commitment to provide sustainable solutions to our customers. Certification with ISCC Plus enables us to supply sustainable plastics with mass balance principles to our customers.
ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) is an organisation aiming to provide sustainability solutions for fully traceable and deforestation free supply chains. ISCC Plus is the name for bio-based plastics certification.
Mass balance is a way to promote the use of bio-based feedstock in the polymer supply chain. With mass balance principle, part of the fossil feedstock used to make plastics is being replaced with renewable feedstock, such as used cooking oil or palm oil.
When customers buy certified plastics, they know that equal amount of fossil feedstock is replaced with renewable feedstock.
“We distribute certified sustainable polymers for making plastic products”, says Kimmo Liinamaa, Telko’s Business Development Manager, Plastics. “Our customers can rely on that they are promoting the use of renewable raw materials.”
Telko Ltd supplies ISCC Plus certified sustainable materials with mass balance principles to our customers. Some of Telko’s partners already have ISCC certified production sites:
“For example, we can readily supply polypropylene PP and polystyrene PS as certified sustainable to our customers”, Kimmo Liinamaa continues.
Telko’s first customer projects with certified materials and mass balance principle are ongoing. Contact Kimmo Liinamaa, tel. +358 (0)400 566 055, for the concept and products.
